ABORTION IS THE CEMENT
by Peter Moss
It is sheer delight to watch 7 Days tackle sex, excretion, abortion, etc.,
subjects the megacorporate main-stream mass media monoculture [5M] avoids
as taboo. Re your 10-9-02 "reproductive choice" cover story: Notwithstanding
all the moaning and groaning by radical conservative wrong-wingers (formerly
right-wingers) about judicial vacancies, the delaying and derailing of
wrong-wing judicial nominees is an undisguised benefit to the unrich 98%
[UR98] of the populace. That is because patronage judges do not administer
justice; they protect the privileges of the top 2% rich [T2R] ruling class.
Over a decade ago, there arose a conference on critical legal studies
consisting of 500 faculty from the top law schools, and they realized
and advertized that the patronage judiciary are a political tool, not
problem solvers nor dispute resolvers. Since abortion is the cement that
holds together the conservative voting block of unrich conservatives and
the T2R, the wailing of the "critical" shortage of judges is an attempt
to enable Bush to name one of his "highly qualified" wrong-wingers to
the Supreme Court in the next two years, to overturn roe-vee-wade to salvage
the voting block. It is a pity that conservatives soil the good name of
the GOP in a selfish attempt to repeal roe-vee-wade which the UR98 must
abort at all cost, not only to give women a choice but to counter the
damage and suffering that conservatives inflict on the UR98 every day.
