RIGHT AND WRONG, NOT LEFT AND RIGHT
by Peter Moss
There are two pairs of English words: there is right and left,
and there is right and wrong. The first pair implies no value
judgments: giving directions to a destination as one right turn
and then one left turn is completely non-judgmental. On the other
hand, right and wrong are strong value judgments. To treat politics
as non-judgmental is not only very wrong, but it presents a huge
advantage for conservatives who are the political wrong and include
the rich, the powerful, the used conservatives, the professional
career conservatives (lobbyists and think tankers), the reactionaries,
and everybody that accepts unquestioningly excessive wealth and
extreme poverty and their maintenance by violence and war.
Proservatives should make a concerted effort to re-name themselves
as the political right and mankind's foes as the political wrong.
We would then have a vast wrong wing conspiracy (VWWC), the radical
wrong, the conservative wrong, the religious wrong, etc.
Much of the agenda of the vast wrong wing conspiracy has been
accomplished simply by language manipulation. Many remember when
the War Department renamed itself as the Defense Department to
defend against the Soviet Union, manipulatively re-named as the
Evil Empire. Well, the Soviet Union is no more but the Defense
Department is bigger and costlier than ever. Next the Department
of Health,, Education and Welfare was re-named as the Department
of Health and Human Services. The "explanation' was that
Congress did not want to vote for "more welfare." More
plausibly, the Bohemian Club decided to do away with welfare
years before Tommy Thompson and Bill Clinton eventually did.
More audaciously, the VWWC has renamed the U.S. and other capitalist
dictatorships as democracies. Countries not kowtowing to the
VWWC are called renegade nations ruled by warlords, dictators,
etc. Proservatives can afford to do no less.
One widely held misperception is that Democrats are liberal
and Republicans are conservative. That is just not so. It could
be said that there are more proservatives among Democrats and
more conservatives among Republicans, but it was not always so.
The Republican party arose to fight slavery which they realized
was wrong. Now that's what proservatism is all about: promote
the public interest against the conservative slave owners who
erroneously thought that abolishing slavery will be the end of
the world. It may be easier to understand this by saying that
Lincoln was a proservative Republican while Bush is a conservative
Republican acting against the public interest and for the benefit
of the top 2% rich.
If the main stream media pick up the trend to the new designations,
the corrections will become unstoppable.
